新しい車を買う時、車に貼ってあるステッカーにその車のパーツが作製された場所がちゃんと書いている。車達を見て、Hondaは、日本の会社だけど、エンジンや色んなパーツがアメリカで作成されているとわかった。でも、私の車は違う。エンジン、トランスミッション、すべてのパーツが日本で作製された。私の車は、三重県鈴鹿市で生まれたらしい。おそらく、「本田研究工業鈴鹿製作所」でしょう。
アメリカでは、運転手が左側に座るから、日本版と逆だけど、それ以外、インテリアは全く一緒。特に、ラジオが同じだと思う。なのに、iPodを繋げて、日本の曲名やアーティスト名を見ようとしたら、「—–」って文字化けする。なんでや！あんた、日本からきたでしょう？！日本が好きでしょう？バックミラーにケロロとギロロが飾ってあるし。あんた、日本で生まれたんだから、日本語頑張って！
I made an attempt at reading this just for kicks.
I got as far as the comma.
I can read past that and understand like 90%.
But I read 車 as “cha,” which is Korean for “car.”
So I stopped reading in self-pity. lol

It Came From Japan Yet It Doesn’t Understand Japanese
This one time when I was buying a new car, I (saw) that the manufactured parts of the car were printed right on the car’s sticker. I was looking at the cars, and I know (noticed?), even though Honda is a Japanese company, the engines and various parts for their cars are manufactured in America. But, my car is different. The engine, the transmission, everything was manufactured in Japan. My car was born straight out of the Suzuka Factory in Mie. Most likely this one: (Insert HTML link).
The driver sits on the left side in the American model, and in the Japanese model it’s reversed. But other than that, the interior is exactly the same. (Even) the radio is the exact same thing, I think. (Given that the case), when (I) hook my iPod up, all the Japanese song names and artist names come up as “—-“; completely incomprehensible! W.T.F.??? You came straight outta Japan, right?! You LIKE Japan, don’t you? Even your back view mirror is pazazzed with keroro and giroro (<—what???). YOU ARE Japanese so get with the program!
I also don’t understand what ケロロとギロロ is supposed to mean. Neither does my electronic dictionary, which… ok, it was made in China, but it’s a Japanese dictionary. 😉
My car radio doesn’t render a single Japanese correctly. At least my cell phone (Sony Ericsson) can render hiragana and a few kanji correctly for some reason.
Alas, why can’t everything technical just support Unicode?

What blasphemy! Install your own radio that supports Japanese!
You’d think apple and honda would have thought about this more clearly. It seems almost as if it was designed for the American car and thrown in for the Japanese one … but its ridiculous because can’t all iPods display Japanese?
Honda must be utilizing the different factories it has throughout the world to make all parts.
Since the radio looks the same from the outside except for the placement of the buttons, I’m guessing the inside is completely different. I doubt that Japanese doesn’t work in the Japanese-version and I doubt they would intentionally break that functionality for the US-version. I think…
But man, couldn’t they just replace and rewire the faceplate and keep the rest of the Japanese radio the same? You would think they’d actually save money that way…
日本から来ても必ずしも日本が好きではないでしょう。（！）日本人の友達でも、「どうしても日本から離れたい！」までも言います。
日本で販売される車もあっちこっちからのパーツに作られたでしょう。たとえばMADE IN THAILAND。なのにiPodを問題なしとして使えますね。
と言っても、文字化けが煩わしいっすね。
