In order to do this, we first have to learn the two different types of adjectives in Japanese.<\/p>\n<p>There are two types of adjectives called <i>i-adjectives<\/i> and <i>na-adjectives<\/i>. <\/p>\n<h3>Examples of i-adjectives<\/h3>\n<p>All i-adjectives end in \u300c\u3044\u300d.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u3044\u3044 &#8211; good<\/li>\n<li>\u304b\u3063\u3053\u3044\u3044 &#8211; cool; handsome<\/li>\n<li>\u5fd9\u3057\u3044 \u3010\u3044\u305d\u304c\u30fb\u3057\u3044\u3011 &#8211; busy<\/li>\n<li>\u697d\u3057\u3044 \u3010\u305f\u306e\u30fb\u3057\u3044\u3011- fun<\/li>\n<li>\u6691\u3044 \u3010\u3042\u3064\u30fb\u3044\u3011 &#8211; hot<\/li>\n<li>\u5bd2\u3044 \u3010\u3055\u3080\u30fb\u3044\u3011 &#8211; cold<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Examples of na-adjectives<\/h3>\n<p>All adjectives that do not end in \u300c\u3044\u300d are na-adjectives.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u597d\u304d \u3010\u3059\u30fb\u304d\u3011 &#8211; likable<\/li>\n<li>\u5143\u6c17 \u3010\u3052\u3093\u30fb\u304d\u3011 &#8211; healthy; lively<\/li>\n<li>\u9759\u304b \u3010\u3057\u305a\u30fb\u304b\u3011 &#8211; quiet<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Examples of na-adjectives that end in \u300c\u3044\u300d<\/h3>\n<p>Though most adjectives that end in \u300c\u3044\u300d are i-adjectives, there are a small number of na-adjectives that end in \u300c\u3044\u300d. The examples below are some of the most common na-adjectives that end in \u300c\u3044\u300d.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u304d\u308c\u3044 &#8211; clean; pretty<\/li>\n<li>\u5acc\u3044 \u3010\u304d\u3089\u30fb\u3044\u3011 &#8211; distasteful<\/li>\n<li>\u5e78\u3044 \u3010\u3055\u3044\u308f\u30fb\u3044\u3011 &#8211; luckily, fortunately<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Describing nouns directly<\/h2>\n<p>You can easily describe a noun by placing the adjective directly in front of the noun.
