In fact, if you consider the implied state-of-being for nouns and adjectives as a verb, it could be said that all complete sentences always end with a verb.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the last chapter, we learned how to set expectations by seeking or providing explanations with \u300c\u306e\u300d. The same thing applies for verbs.<\/p>\n<h3>Example<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>\uff08\u304a\uff09\u3059\u3057 &#8211; sushi \uff08\u300c\u304a\u300d is an optional honorific prefix\uff09<\/li>\n<li>\u98df\u3079\u308b \u3010\u305f\u3079\u30fb\u308b\u3011 &#8211; to eat<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>\u304a\u3059\u3057\u306f\u3001\u98df\u3079\u308b\uff1f<br \/>\nDo you eat sushi?<\/li>\n<li>\u304a\u3059\u3057\u306f\u3001\u98df\u3079\u308b<em>\u306e<\/em>\uff1f<br \/>\nYou eat sushi?<br \/>\n(seeking explanation why he\/she eats sushi as opposed to a neutral question &#8220;Do you eat sushi?&#8221;)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>I love sushi!<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>\u5927\u597d\u304d \u3010\u3060\u3044\u30fb\u3059\u30fb\u304d\u3011 (na-adj) &#8211; lovable; very likable<\/li>\n<li>\u751f \u3010\u306a\u307e\u3011 &#8211; raw<\/li>\n<li>\u9b5a \u3010\u3055\u304b\u306a\u3011 &#8211; fish<\/li>\n<li>\u3059\u3054\u3044 (i-adj)  &#8211; amazing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u30b9\u30df\u30b9\uff1a \u304a\u3059\u3057\u306f\u3001<em>\u98df\u3079\u308b<\/em>\u306e\uff1f<br \/>\nSmith: As for sushi, (you) eat (it)?<\/p>\n<p>\u30b8\u30e7\u30f3\uff1a \u3046\u3093\u3001\u5927\u597d\u304d\u3060\u3088\uff01<br \/>\nJohn: Yes, I love (it)!<\/p>\n<p>\u30b9\u30df\u30b9\uff1a \u3067\u3082\u3001\u751f\u306e\u9b5a\u3060\u3088\u3002<br \/>\nSmith: But (it&#8217;s) raw fish, you know.<\/p>\n<p>\u30b8\u30e7\u30f3\uff1a \u3060\u304b\u3089\uff1f<br \/>\nJohn: So?<\/p>\n<p>\u30b9\u30df\u30b9\uff1a \u3059\u3054\u3044\u306d\u3002<br \/>\nSmith: (That&#8217;s) amazing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Similar to the state-of-being for nouns and adjectives, the verb always comes at the end of the sentence.
