We can use the three words we just learned for giving and receiving with other verbs to express the action as a favor. This construction is used to make requests and do things for others.<\/p>\n

Giving and receiving favors<\/h2>\n

In order to use one of the three words we learned for giving and receiving with another verb, first change the verb to the te-form and then attach the word for giving or receiving to the end of the verb.<\/p>\n

  1. \u982d\u304c\u60aa\u3044\u304b\u3089\u5148\u751f\u304c\u7279\u5225\u306b\u8aac\u660e\u3092\u3057\u3066\u304f\u308c\u305f<\/em>\u3002
    \n(I’m) not smart so (the) teacher explained (it) specially for me.<\/li>\n
  2. \u304a\u91d1\u304c\u306a\u3044\u304b\u3089\u3001\u663c\u3054\u98ef\u3092\u304a\u3054\u3063\u3066\u304f\u308c\u308b<\/em>\uff1f
    \n(I) don’t have money so will (you) treat me to lunch for me?<\/li>\n
  3. \u3053\u308c\u304c\u6b32\u3057\u3044\u306a\u3089\u3001\u8cb7\u3063\u3066\u3042\u3052\u308b<\/em>\u3088\u3002
    \nIf (you) want this, (I will) buy (it) for you, you know.<\/li>\n
  4. \u4eca\u306f\u3061\u3087\u3063\u3068\u624b\u304c\u96e2\u305b\u306a\u3044\u306e\u3067\u3001\u5f8c\u3067\u96fb\u8a71\u3057\u3066\u3082\u3089\u3048\u307e\u3059<\/em>\u304b\u3002
    \n(I’m) in the middle of something now so can you call (me) later?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Requesting to not do something<\/h2>\n

    In order to express the negative, ie to give the favor of not<\/b> doing the action, change the verb to the negative, attach \u300c\u3067\u300d, then the word for giving or receiving.<\/p>\n
